The gateway to opportunities in North Wales
The North Wales Regional Skills Partnership, one of four partnerships across Wales, approached us to develop an online gateway that would simplify skills, employment, and business growth opportunities in the region, and connect the dots between individuals, employers, and training and support providers.
Tackling a specific challenge within the Ambition North Wales structure, we set about defining and developing a brand identity that would capture the attention of and resonate with a diverse audience and work bilingually in digital and non-digital environments. This provided a solid foundation from which we could then design and build the Portal itself, with an emphasis on good UX, accessibility and an easy-to-use content management system.

OUTCOMES
With such a diverse set of stakeholders to consider, we initially launched the brand at the end of 2024 before launching the Portal itself in early 2025, giving everyone involved time to have input and align around the new identity before announcing the offering to the public.
To maximise engagement and adoption we also developed a suite of icons, infographics and animations for the client to use on the Portal and in their PR and marketing campaigns. Following a successful launch, we’re now collecting quantitative and qualitative feedback to continue refining the offering over the next couple of years – ultimately ensuring that the Portal is what the people and businesses of North Wales truly need.
A hugely rewarding project and one the entire team are proud to be playing a part in, this is a great example of where Tropic’s flexible studio approach, long-term vision and ability to provide wrap-around support can help deliver on ambitious projects.
